Official Notice: The Bureau of Regenerative Agriculture Has Assessed Your 'No Dig' Certification and Requests Your Immediate Presence at Drainage Channel 7, Western Siberia

OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE — PEOPLE'S BUREAU OF REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE

Labor Reassignment Division, Western Siberia District

Re: Comrade [YOUR NAME], No-Dig Certification Holder, YouTube Channel 'Rooted & Radiant'

Dear Comrade,

Thank you for your years of dedicated service to the online soil sovereignty movement. The Bureau has reviewed your content archive in full. We watched the one where you knelt beside a raised bed in linen trousers and told 47,000 subscribers that 'the land doesn't want to be disturbed.' We watched it twice. We took notes.

Effective the first of next month, you will be reporting to Drainage Channel 7, Tyumen Oblast, Western Siberia. Please bring waterproof boots. The Bureau does not provide waterproof boots.

How We Got Here: A Brief Skills Audit

The Bureau's assessment team spent considerable time with your back catalog. You have, over the past four years, built a robust personal brand around the central thesis that doing less is, in fact, a radical agricultural act. Your course, 'The Lazy Gardener's Guide to Soil Sovereignty,' retailed at $97 and promised participants they would 'learn to let the earth lead.' Your Patreon tier called 'Deep Roots' charged $22 a month for access to videos of you walking slowly through a garden path while speaking in a near-whisper about mycorrhizal networks.

The Bureau found this content instructive — not in the way you intended.

Our labor assessment team noted the following in your official performance file:

'Subject demonstrates a confident physical relationship with the outdoors, consistently appearing in content filmed in direct sunlight, often crouching, occasionally carrying a trowel. Thumbnail analysis across 63 videos reveals a consistent expression of calm competence. Subject has clearly not been cold, wet, or structurally exhausted in several years. This represents significant untapped manual labor reserves.'

Comrade, the Bureau does not say this to be unkind. It says this because Western Siberia has 2.7 million acres of waterlogged peat land that will not drain itself, and your comfort with being outdoors — however aesthetically curated that comfort has been — is genuinely useful to us.

The No-Dig Philosophy: A Generous Reinterpretation

We want to be clear that the Bureau has not dismissed your agricultural philosophy. We have simply expanded it.

You believe in working with the land rather than against it. So do we. The drainage channels of the Tyumen lowlands represent one of the most ambitious human-land collaboration projects in recorded history. The land, left to its own devices, becomes an impassable bog. The collective, working in partnership with the land, redirects it. You and a team of fourteen colleagues will be doing exactly this, with long-handled spades, beginning at 5:45am.

You may be wondering: is this 'no-dig'? Technically, no. It is quite a lot of dig. However, the Bureau encourages you to reframe this as 'intentional excavation in service of collective soil sovereignty,' which we think aligns reasonably well with your brand values.

A Word About Your Audience

The Bureau is aware that 47,000 people currently follow your journey. We have reviewed the comment section of your most recent video — the one where you pressed your palm into a raised bed and said 'this soil is alive, and it deserves to rest' — and we note that many of your followers expressed a desire to 'do less' in their own lives.

The Bureau has opened a waitlist.

We are particularly interested in the commenters who described themselves as 'aspiring permaculture designers,' 'regenerative living advocates,' and one individual who wrote, simply, 'I too am learning to be soil.' These individuals will be contacted separately.

What to Bring to Drainage Channel 7

The Bureau recommends the following:

Your linen trousers are not suitable for this assignment. We mention this because three previous reassignees arrived in linen trousers. The Bureau still thinks about them.

A Final Note on Soil Sovereignty

Comrade, you have spent years telling people that the soil knows what it needs. The Bureau agrees. What the soil of Western Siberia needs, specifically, is drainage infrastructure, and what drainage infrastructure needs is you.

Your first day begins at 0545. There will be no YouTube thumbnail. There will be no whisper-voiced voiceover about the wisdom of the earth. There will be, however, earth — quite a lot of it — and the Bureau is confident you will find it educational.

Welcome to the collective. The land is ready for you.

Issued by the People's Bureau of Regenerative Agriculture, Labor Reassignment Division. 'The soil does not care about your content calendar.'
